Milwaukee’s Rapid Charger Station (48-59-1807) allows you to load 6 batteries at once (3 M12 and 3 M18) and will simultaneously charge up to 3 batteries at once. It will also charge your batteries up to 40% faster than the standard Milwaukee charger you get in most kits. If you’re a professional mechanic or technician this rapid charger is a MUST HAVE TOOL. As batteries become bigger and have more capacity they take longer to charge. It also can be a nightmare having to remember to switch batteries out to charge.
This charger eliminates the stress of recharging your cordless tools. Now you can charge three M18 XC battery packs in under 40 minutes. You can also hook it up to an inverter and run it while you drive to your next job site. From my research, this thing is beloved by the professional and homeowners who want a cleaner charging situation. I found an awesome deal on Amazon for the Milwaukee 48-59-1807 here.
As a comparison, a single rapid charger from Home Depot costs almost $80. That will only do one battery at a time, and doesn’t charge as fast! You can think of the rapid charger station as a combination of three of the single rapid chargers, and it all comes in one neat package.
Get ready to say goodbye to waiting for batteries to charge.

PROS AND CONS:
- Built-in carrying handle
- Pass-thru plug (as with the Six Pack) it doesn’t even use up a spot in your socket.
- Green LED indicators for each charging position that flash when a battery pack reaches 80% charging capacity
- Can charge (3) M18 XC battery packs in 37 minutes
- Pencil guides for easier measurement-free wall mounting (it’s the simple things that show they care).
CONS:
- It does not charge 6 batteries simultaneously
- There is a lot of confusion around this online, it will only charge one battery per set at a time.
- Meaning if you want it to only charge your 3 M12 batteries, only load the 3 M12 batteries and it will start charging them simultaneously. If you also load an M18 battery at the same time it may switch to that battery and not charge the M12 battery. It will always charge the first battery inserted first. Therefore, if you pay close attention you can set it up to charge any of these scenarios:
- 3 x M18
- 3 x M12
- 2 x M18 + M12
- 2 x M12 + M18

Or if you don’t care what batteries charge first, just slap 6 in there and it will handle the rest in no time!
-
- If you want it to charge just three m18 batteries make sure they are each in their own station and no m12’s that need to be charged are plugged in.
- To charge 2 M18’s and 1 M12 at the same time you would put the two m18’s in and the m12 in its own separate port (not shared with any of the m18’s.)
- This sounds complicated to explain but really just look at this image and it will make sense.
- You’ll only wish you would’ve bought it sooner!
Battery Charging Display Functionality
The Milwaukee rapid charger also has its RedLink Intelligence monitoring. Which means the Milwaukee Rapid Charger communicates directly with each battery pack. The charger makes sure each battery is correctly charged, temperature status during charging is monitored, therefore each pack’s life is extended for optimal performance. It doesn’t hurt either that Milwaukee has one of the best warranties of any cordless tool brands in the industry.
Here is what it means when your Milwaukee charger flashes at you:
Lithium-ion Battery Charging Display | ||
---|---|---|
Battery Pack Temperature | Red Charger Indicator Light | Charging Status |
Too Hot Normal Range Too Cold |
Fast Flashing Continuous Fast Flashing |
Not charging Normal charging Not charging |
CONCLUSION:
It works with all M18 and M12 battery packs, offers amazing value, and is a must-have tool for any DIYer or professional technician that loves Milwaukee cordless tools (M12 & M18).
The charger has all the typical Milwaukee battery cell monitoring tech, and added sensors that monitor the voltage of your car battery. If the voltage from the vehicle charging port drops too low, the charger will shut down to prevent excessive discharge conditions.
If you’re going to be going with only Milwaukee tools, there really is no better way to charge your batteries. You will clean up your toolbox, keep cords from getting mixed up, and always be sure to have a fully charged battery on hand. It isn’t often that I recommend someone buy a fancy charger, but this is more of a value than any other charger on the market.
Once again check the Milwaukee Rapid Charger Station out on Amazon here, it may seem a little steep, but it is like getting a free charger and some sweet functionality all in one.
Or if you’re against spending the money on a rapid charger, you can always build out an old toolbox and fill it with chargers. Many technicians end up doing this, probably because they have yet to find out about Milwaukee rapid charger. Here is one of my favorite cordless power charge station toolboxes. Cheers!
